Beer Canada is excited to announce that Andrew Oland, President and CEO of Moosehead Breweries Ltd., has been appointed as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. As the leader of a historic, Canadian-owned brewery that has operated in Atlantic Canada since 1867, Mr. Oland brings extensive experience and a deep knowledge of the brewing industry to his new role.
Andrew Oland’s appointment continues a family legacy within the Canadian brewing community, following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather George B. Oland, grandfather Philip Oland, and father Derek Oland, all of whom previously served as Chairs of Beer Canada’s Board of Directors.
“I am honored to assume the role of Chair of Beer Canada’s Board of Directors during this dynamic period for our industry,” said Oland.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues to enhance the operating environment for brewers across the country and to promote the responsible distribution, sale, promotion, and consumption of beer.”
Mr. Oland will serve alongside the current members of Beer Canada’s Board of Directors, which include Chantalle Butler of Molson Coors Canada, Anders Rud Jørgensen of Waterloo Brewing, Marcelo Michaelis of Labatt Breweries of Canada, and John Sleeman of Sleeman Breweries Ltd.
Beer Canada expressed its deepest gratitude to outgoing Chair, Fred Landtmeters, for his dedicated leadership over his seven-year tenure on the Board, including the last two and a half years as Chair.
Landtmeters’ commitment to the industry has been instrumental in guiding Beer Canada through a period of growth and change.
As Chair, Oland will continue to support Beer Canada’s mission to improve the operating environment for brewers across the country while encouraging responsible practices throughout the industry.
